Gladskin Acne

What is acne and how can it be treated?

Acne is a common skin condition, often characterised by spots. Acne occurs frequently during puberty but also in grown-up women, during and after pregnancy and the menopause. The primary cause of acne is often hormonal: increased sebum production causes the sebaceous gland to clog. The result may be an infection, caused by the Staphylococcus aureus bacterium. Use of Gladskin Acne will prevent the clogged sebaceous gland becoming infected, which will prevent and reduce spots.

I have been searching for an effective acne treatment for ages; how do I know if Gladskin Acne will also work for me?

Gladskin Acne will work if you are a carrier of the Staphylococcus aureus bacterium. It is estimated that 20% of the population permanently carry Staphylococcus aureus on their skin and 60% of the population does so regularly. Gladskin tackles this bacteria, thus reducing redness and preventing infections. As a result, the symptoms of acne will be reduced or even prevented altogether.

Does Gladskin Acne also work for the acne on my back?

Yes, Gladskin can be used on any part of the body.

Does Gladskin also work against acne scars?

No, Gladskin does not repair scar tissue. It is therefore not a remedy against existing acne scars. By using Gladskin Acne, you can prevent new acne scars from forming.

How long do I need to use Gladskin Acne before I notice an effect?

The initial effect may be seen and felt very quickly, since the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria are killed in a matter of minutes. However, the harmful Staphylococcus aureus bacteria may also have penetrated to deeper layers of the skin. If this has happened, it may take longer before the optimum effect is attained. Daily use of Gladskin Acne will prevent the formation of new acne in such cases. With regard to existing spots, Gladskin Acne usually reduces the redness quite quickly, but because the bacteria are already 'locked in', they are more difficult to be reached by the active ingredient in Gladskin. Therefore it may take as long as a month before the optimum effect is attained through daily use.

Is Gladskin Acne non-comedogenic?

Comedogenic means that the pores are blocked which increases the chance of blackheads forming and sebaceous glands clogging up. Gladskin Acne and Rosacea do not contain any ingredients that block the pores and are therefore non-comedogenic.

Gladskin Eczema

I have eczema in my face; can I use Gladskin Eczema for this?

Gladskin Eczema can be used for eczema in the face. You should prevent exposure to the eyes.

I have eczema around my eyes; is it safe to use Gladskin on area’s near my eye, such as my eyelids?

Gladskin Eczema can be used on the area near the eye. You should take care to prevent the gel from getting into your eye.

I have eczema on my entire body and have been using corticosteroids for a long time; can I use Gladskin in that case?

If you suffer from severe eczema and use corticosteroids, we recommend that you consult your GP or dermatologist. Gladskin Eczema can be used to prevent eczema patches from becoming infected. Gladskin soothes eczema by reducing itching and redness.

Does Gladskin Eczema also work against seborrhoeic eczema?

No, seborrhoeic eczema is caused by a yeast (fungus). Gladskin does not work against yeasts.

Gladskin Rosacea

What is rosacea?

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition affecting men and women between the ages of 30 and 60. The symptoms of rosacea are a red face, red nose and cheeks, blushing, flushing, facial pimples and pustules, visible blood vessels underneath the skin surface and swelling of the skin, especially around the nose.

I suffer from red skin and pimples, does that mean I have rosacea?

Red skin, nose and cheeks, flakiness and pimples are all symptoms of the condition rosacea. In the event of questions or uncertainty, we recommend that you consult a doctor or specialist.

Does Gladskin Rosacea work against rosacea?

The underlying cause of rosacea is still unclear, but research has shown that the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus causes the majority of bacterial (skin) infections. The active ingredient of Gladskin, Staphefekt™, kills the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The result for rosacea is that 90% of users experience less facial redness. Gladskin soothes the rosacea symptoms such as redness, itching and irritation. Gladskin does not help against couperose (dilated blood vessels).

How long do I need to use Gladskin Rosacea before I notice an effect?

The Staphylococcus aureus bacteria live primarily on the skin surface. Staphefekt™ kills the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria on the skin surface within a few seconds. However, some Staphylococcus aureus bacteria may have penetrated to deeper layers of the skin. During the renewal of skin cells, these bacteria can migrate to the skin’s surface, where they will eventually be killed. For this reason, it will depend on the user's personal situation how long it takes before the optimum effect of Gladskin is attained. Although many people with rosacea and acne experience an immediate positive effect of Gladskin, some people only achieve the optimum effect after approximately a month of daily use.

Is Gladskin Rosacea non-comedogenic?

Comedogenic means that the pores are blocked which increases the chance of blackheads forming and sebaceous glands clogging up. Gladskin Acne and Rosacea do not contain any ingredients that block the pores and are therefore non-comedogenic.

Gladskin Shaving irritation

What can I use Gladskin Shaving irritation for?

You can use Gladskin Shaving irritation for skin irritation/infections involving the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, such as irritation after shaving and/or waxing. Gladskin Shaving irritation may also be used in cases of irritation and redness around the eye. You should take care to prevent the gel from getting into your eye.

Can I use Gladskin when red bumps appear after shaving or waxing?

Yes, Gladskin Shaving irritation can be used after shaving or waxing the face, arms, legs and bikini line. Gladskin kills the Staphylococcus aureusbacterium that plays an important part in shaving irritation. This will reduce or even completely clear the irritation and red bumps occurring after shaving.

Does Gladskin Shaving Irritation also help against ingrown hairs?

Gladskin does not help against ingrown hairs in the beard or groin area. The hairs grow back in because they curl back and re-penetrate the skin surface.

However, Gladskin can remedy the infections resulting from ingrown hairs.
Gladskin can remedy and prevent infections caused by the Staphylococcus aureus bacterium.

Gladskin samples

Can I get free samples?

The volume of a sample may be too small to achieve the intended result. Gladskin user experience has shown that, depending on individual circumstances, the optimum effect is sometimes only attained through daily use over a number of weeks. This is the reason why Gladskin samples are not available.

Veiligheid en allergieën

Is Gladskin safe?

All Gladskin products are safe to use on (intact) skin. The active ingredient in the Gladskin products kills only harmful bacteria and does not affect benificial bacteria and other skin cells. Research has shown that the majority bacteria on the skin actually protect it. Removing these beneficial bacteria is therefore undesirable. The active ingredient remains on the skin’s surface and cannot penetrate into the skin.

Due to the fact there is no build-up of resistance during use of Gladskin, the products can be used over a long period of time. The gels and creams have a hypoallergenic formula so as to minimise hypersensitive reactions to the additives.

Could I be allergic to the Gladskin products?

The Gladskin products are hypoallergenic. This means that the chance of an allergic reaction is minimal.

I have a lanolin allergy; will it be safe to use Gladskin?

Yes, the Gladskin gel is free from lanolin and lanolin-derived substances, which makes it safe for use by persons with a lanolin (wool alcohols) allergy. However, the Gladskin Eczema cream does contain a lanolin derivative (cetostearyl alcohol). In case of a lanolin allergy, we recommend that you avoid using Gladskin Eczema cream and use Gladskin Eczema gel as an alternative.

Are Gladskin products tested on animals?

All Gladskin products are free from animal testing.

How to use

How should I use Gladskin?

For an optimal result, we recommend that you use Gladskin consistently two or three times a day over a period of four to six weeks. Apply Gladskin to the (acne, rosacea or eczema) affected or irritated skin after cleansing and before applying other skincare products. Leave Gladskin to work for five minutes before you apply other products.
This is because the ingredients of other skincare products may influence the effects of Gladskin and may reduce its effectiveness.

My skin feels dry and sensitive after I have used the Gladskin Gel; what can I do about this?

In this case, we recommend that you use Gladskin Daily Care in addition to the Gladskin Gel. This is a nourishing cream, which counteracts dry skin without negatively affecting your Gladskin product.

Is it possible that my skin could get worse if I use Gladskin?

Some users experience a slight worsening and a burning sensation when first applying Gladskin. This should decrease after a few days.

Use Gladskin consistently, for at least four to six weeks, for an optimal result. However, if you are allergic to one or several of the ingredients of Gladskin and experience a hypersensitive reaction, we recommend that you discontinue use. Please feel free to contact us for tips and advice.

How long will a 30ml bottle of Gladskin last?

If used daily and applied twice a day, a 30ml bottle of Gladskin will last one to two months, on average. Depending on the surface area of the irritated skin, this may differ from one individual to another.

How to store Gladskin?

For an optimal effect of the active ingredient Staphefekt, we advise to store Gladskin Cream products, with Staphefekt, refrigerated. Gladskin Gel products, with Staphefekt, can be stored at room temperature. Do you prefer to store the Cream outside of the refrigerator? It is possible to store the Cream at room temperature, however the shelf life will be limited to 3 month after purchase. Prevent exposure to temperatures of below 0°C or above 25°C.

What is the shelf life of Gladskin?

The exact expiration date of the product is always stated on the bottle. All Gladskin products have an expiration date of six months after purchase.

Can I combine Gladskin with my own moisturiser and skincare products?

Use Gladskin on clean skin, as ingredients of other skincare products may reduce or influence the effects of Gladskin.
